Every painting here was built the same way painters have worked for centuries: observed from life, drawn before it was painted, laid in through a monochrome grisaille before colour ever arrived. T. trained at the Barcelona Academy of Art, where those methods (underdrawing, controlled value structure, transparent glazing) are not historical footnotes but the actual curriculum. Nothing in this collection came from a photograph or a projection. Every proportion, every passage of light, was seen.
What that foundation makes possible is a painting with a kind of presence that's hard to manufacture.
